40 महा प्रबंधको की सूचि तैयार . कई बैंकों में नए प्रबंध निदेशकों  की नियुक्ति होना है  , साक्षात्कार फरवरी में संभावित

According to a news item the Government has already prepared a list of around 40 General Managers  from public sector banks to be interviewed for promotion to Executive Directors (EDs). 16-17 EDs will be selected from this list, interviews for the posts of ED are supposed to be held in February.

Ms Usha Thorat, Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India will be the head of the Interview panel, and will have four other members according to the news.

Chairmen of  11 public sector banks are retiring in 2010, these vacancies will be filled up by EDs. About 20 fresh vacancies are estimated for EDs this year. Of the 20, three GMs have already been selected as EDs in 2009.

Other then EDs who will be promoted as chairmen, four EDs will retire in 2010. besides these, some of the banks, e.g. United Bank of India which has reached the Rs One Lakh Crore-business, will be eligible for a second ED.

According to the rules, GMs, who still have three more years for retirement, are eligible to appear for interview for ED.

News says that the finance ministry has sought consent from M R Naik of Corporation Bank for the second ED post at Allahabad Bank. Similarly,Ashok Dutt of Allahabad Bank is scheduled to go to Dena Bank as ED and S L Bansal of Union Bank of India is likely to become ED at Kolkata-based United Bank of India.

Since friends, the articles here dont fetch comments from you, I wouldnt ask you to post your comments, or let us know your views, but just think what a huge excercise it may be. and what should the basis be for selection for the promotions.? even if it is held for a very low post.?
